THAT'S IT! I'm no longer accepting Ask Wavetro questions on this post, please leave any other questions you have on my newest post instead of this one. I'll know what it's for
how often are you able to share your own goals in life (those closer to realization) without them messing up or not happening at all? i am currently in the process of trying to find a stable path from where i am now to a new place in a new state in a career that i am studying, but it's really bumpy since:
• i am 17, and trying to go into something as "dangerous" and labor-intensive as manufacturing
• i am trying to move about 12 hours away to ohio to a spot where i would know all of two people
I tend to be a very closed book about it with my family. I never really show them what I'm up to with YouTube, and that sort of manifested in how I don't like showing people online what's coming up soon with wavetro. That being said, I don't think that should stop you from being able to achieve those goals, or at least take the risk of reaching for them. My parents thought I was crazy for moving halfway across the country to some state that has no friends or family (none) and no backup plan if I lost my remote job. But it paid off for me. If you're dead certain that manufacturing is a good livelihood for you and you know ANYONE at all in Ohio, I would say absolutely take the risk and try moving. If you succeed, living away from parents is the most fulfilling feeling in the world. If you fail, you can always move back home and try something else. In other words, there's no need to share your adventure plans if you don't want to, and you can still pursue them even if you don't feel comfortable telling some people about it! It's what I do.
Great question, I would like to but it's a little hard for me to pick games that the audience would also like. I've had a multi-year history with Blockstorm and that's why I made a video on it, I would need another equally audience-captivating angle to review another game
I think I am, I am not sure, therefore I am somewhat. idk
Also I think it's a golden opportunity for Godot. It made the entire game dev scene look towards Godot's mismanagement of bug fixes and maintenance and rush in to try and make the engine viable for heavier production-ready games. I once saw some mindblowing screencaps and videos of Unity devs making Godot work flawlessly. The only problem is whether Godot will use this opportunity to fix its management issues and start making a truly viable competitor, as I would hate for everyone to slowly drift back to Unity
What's your experience been like in a city that's close to the southern border? Have you seen spanish-speakers or hispanic stuff more often or is that aspect not really present?
I am so glad you asked that, I will answer it in the next Ask Wavetro this December! Also someone asked the bike thing already but I'll lump you in with her and answer that in the next one too
The first Ask Wavetro was awesome! Glad that the format is back :)
Here's a self reflection question for ya that I've been wondering about for a while.
Why do/did you feel obligated to make all of your videos have such high quality animation?
To expand on the question, I wanna reference the We Made a Pizza Video. It is my favorite video on the Wavetro channel. The visuals are honestly amazing for what the video is but to me that was never the draw of the video. It's what actually happens in the video that is the driving force. Seeing the final abomination that was the pizza, meeting Quualudes guy, all the stupid jokes and voices; it all makes the video hilarious and so fun to watch. I don't remember exactly where, but I remember you talking about this video and saying how fun it was and how it would be the future of the channel. Then at some point you shut down the series, saying "it's too much effort for a Discord video" (I'm paraphrasing, also apologies if I'm misremembering). It all confused me so much since the obvious solution is to continue making the videos, just without the ridiculous amount of polish. It's not like doing that would have taken the uniqueness from it, the ability to 3d model the pizza was already enough of a draw. (I should clarify, this is not me asking for the Discord videos to come back. If they never come back, so be it)
Same thing also somewhat applies to Stickman 2020 and Teddy & Ben. I always found the draw of that series and first episode to be the writing. A lot of internet animation has this problem of putting visuals first before writing, but you went about it the exact opposite way. Writing always came first, you would never start making a video if you didn't believe that the idea was great, and I really liked that. Bringing it back to the question, you still ended up burning yourself out again and again over making the visuals even though that wasn't even the main draw of the series. (AGAIN not asking for any of those series to come back, just presenting my pov and expanding on the question)
Alright I've already yapped quite enough, it's a bad habit I have. Thanks and have a good day.
YES YOU CAN i put you in!!! It's in the video "THAT WEEKEND NAMED AWESOME," see if you can find yourself! It's also a vlog, so the answer to your question is yes!
Thank you for answering my question! Since you asked I'll clarify that I've never lost anyone to a crushing incident. I just figured the question would help break the ice a bit, as well as give some interesting reading material.
If you want another interesting question, any outdated technology you find interesting? A personal favorite of mine has to be the MONIAC Economic Hydraulic computer, in the old field of analog/physical computing that isn't really done now at days.
Nixie tubes. Those are a fascinating method of displaying characters before the seven-segment LCD came along. Pretty much anything covered on the YouTube channel Posy is what I find interesting when it comes to outdated tech
You said that you create because you want to have some impact on society, and leave something behind, instead of just consuming and being a nobody. This brings the question: Are you planning to have kids to dedicate your life to?
These days, really just multiplayer games that are easy to jump into. I get intimidated by games that take 15-20+ hours to complete, or games that need way too much grinding or requires too much skill like CS:GO. But multiplayer stuff more on the casual side (like Blockstorm or Duck Game) along with shorter singleplayer titles (like Hypnospace Outlaw or Toem) are what I gravitate towards these days
I didn't get to have a lot of pets growing up because my mom was very allergic to animal fur. (No cats or dogs!) I've had a hermit crab and a fish here and there, but I'm not really a pet person otherwise. Maybe I could get back into it but I'm not sure, I like having my free time unburdened
Not really, it's kind of scary how much everything blends together into an unrecognizable blob of interests for me these days. One day it could be transportation video essays, the next it's binge-watching 30sec comedy skits from a single YouTuber. Maybe I should get into watching more movies or something
Hi, I'm gonna lump in this question with the one TheFbi asked about what I've been doing this year away from YouTube. I'll be sure to answer in the next Ask Wavetro in December!

Just curious what did you do in your time away from Youtube?
Hello! I will talk more about this in the next Ask Wavetro in December, thanks for writing in!

Do you plan on doing more game reviews.

Ever since the unity install fee fiasco, has your opinion on godot changed at all?
Also, do you think, therefore you are?

Also how the hell have you not ridden a bike?
I am so glad you asked that, I will answer it in the next Ask Wavetro this December! Also someone asked the bike thing already but I'll lump you in with her and answer that in the next one too
wtf youve never ridden a bike??? why not
Great question! I will talk about it in the next Ask Wavetro this December, tyvm for writing!

Phenomenal question, I will be talking about this in the next Ask Wavetro this December. Thanks so much for writing in!
Can I be featured in the next video please please please!!!!!!!!
Real question tho, do you plan on uploading more vlogs? Those are always fun to watch!
YES YOU CAN i put you in!!! It's in the video "THAT WEEKEND NAMED AWESOME," see if you can find yourself! It's also a vlog, so the answer to your question is yes!

God that is a hard question. I will most definitely be answering it in the next Ask Wavetro this December!
What games do you like?
These days, really just multiplayer games that are easy to jump into. Do you have a certain type/genre of content you watch on any sort of platform nowadays? (youtube, streaming services, etc)
Not really, it's kind of scary how much everything blends together into an unrecognizable blob of interests for me these days. One day it could be transportation video essays, the next it's binge-watching 30sec comedy skits from a single YouTuber. Maybe I should get into watching more movies or something
in your time outside of yt, did you pick up any new hobbies or interests? if so, which?
Hi, I'm gonna lump in this question with the one TheFbi asked about what I've been doing this year away from YouTube. I'll be sure to answer in the next Ask Wavetro in December!
